Week 6: Landscape
This picture was taken on my son's field trip to Chapin Orchard. What inspired me to take this photo was the beautiful foliage that you can see in the mid line of the picture. It is a classic example of Vermont's landscapes with the tractor and trees as far as the eye can see.
I think this one is my favorite. It was also taken on our field trip. The red barn certainly pops out with color and in the background you can see the old silo with vines growing out its top. Also the kids with their apple top hats on stand out. This photo follows the rule of thirds.
This picture was taken in my backyard. The main focus of the picture is the kids play structure. What I found interesting after taking the picture was the depth . The picture makes my backyard look bigger then it is. There is also a lot of complementary colors in the picture.
This picture would look so good if the fence wasn't in the way. I love how the dark blue of the sky melts with the mountain. The branch hanging down give that small contrast of color. This was my experiment with shooting at twilight. I tried doing another twilight shot but I didn't get it right and it got to dark. I will upload my fifth picture tomorrow. Think at this point I will stick to daylight shots.
Ok! So here is a couple editions to my landscape photos
I love this picture! The way the light rays are coming out of the clouds. This was taken at overlook park in South Burlington. That was my first time there and I was amazed at the view of the lake and the mountains. I would say the picture follows the rule of thirds as the skyline, mountains and trees all fall on the along the grid lines.
This was also taken at overlook park. I colors of the trees and grass complement each other.

Jaime,
ReplyDeleteYou have some great pictures here. The twilight one is beautiful and I love how you can see the sun's rays shine through the clouds on the next one. The one of Chapin Orchard is nice too, we pick apples there every year. Great job!

I really like the second picture of the children at the apple orchard. I love the line the children make along with their cute apple hats. My eye was drawn to the red barn in the upper right-hand corner that you captured following the rule of thirds.
ReplyDeletethat fourth photo of the valley with the light blasting across the lake is awesome. I love how it hits so many of the light values and colors in one shot.
ReplyDeleteI really like the fourth photo with the many different lines. The ray of light pointing towards the water gives it a peaceful feeling.
